Uncommon Gifts

One thing that no one ever tells you when you’re growing up is it becomes harder and harder to buy gifts for someone. Whether its a birthday gift, housewarming gift or just a “thinking of you”- adults are much harder to buy for. UncommonGoods has some super cute and very unique little gifts that are perfect for these sorts of occasions. They also have great things to pick up for yourself if you’re the kind of person who loves little gadgets in your home.

I went through and picked just a few of my favorites for my favorite part of a home, the kitchen and bar area. At least in my house, that’s where we always end up hanging out.

One thing that my mom got me into last year was flavored salts. I use them on just about everything now! I love adding truffle salt to my mac and cheese, it makes even the boxed kind taste gourmet (yes, mac and cheese is a staple in my diet.) They’re also great to add to vegetables, meat or literally anything that you want to kick up the flavor with. Even though I live in the city, I don’t want to give up the herb and vegetable garden back home. This little micro-green kit seems like the perfect option for having a tiny inside garden. I love the idea of always having something growing, so I’ll definitely be giving something like this a try!

If anyone tells me they don’t like pizza, I automatically question if I can be friends with them. This pizza dish, which allows you to bake and serve, is my new favorite. p.s. it could totally double as a great individual cheese and cracker plate for people!

The stone drink dispenser is really included because I think it’s super cool and totally want one for the next (well, first) party. Honestly, maybe its just me, but I’m a big fan of fun little gadgets like that. In case you don’t follow me on twitter, I’ll fill you in on a little secret, wine is my go-to drink. In particular, I like french wines. Having this tasting map above a little bar area would be perfect for anyone else who shares my love of french wines. However, I’m certainly not an expert in wines by any standard, seriously, when my bestie Nicole and I go to dinner together, she orders the wine for us. If I did it, we would end up with a Cabernet, probably from France, every time. So she helps me to expand my wine pallet and usually impresses everyone around us because she can tell you what kind of barrel it was in from the taste and many more things above my wine tasting abilities. Don’t worry, she’s agreed to give me lessons. Anyways, I’ve been seeing agate coasters everywhere, and I absolutely love them, but cannot decide what color to get. Hence why I like these so much, you get a few different pops of color.

Mixology dice are one of those things that are perfect for making you break out of you’r usual drink or kill the time in between getting ready and actually going out. Possibly the most perfect house warming gift for when someone moves to a new city are these city map glasses. They have 13 major cities currently.

Something that I always love at restaurants is when they decanter your wine if you get a bottle, it just makes it a little more special. Doing it at home with this simple one is a great way to give a night in a little more elegance.

They have a ton more great gifts, art and much for to check out. They’re for sure going to be one of my new places to find great little gifts for my friends and family!
