NYC Essentials

I’m Back! After multiple weeks of moving and traveling I’m finally settled in and NYC is my summer getaway! I’m so excited to explore the city and share snaps of what I’m up to and finding. So far I’ve figured out a few absolute essentials for city living this summer.

City Essentials

1. The neutral clutch to take you from day to night around the city. Carry only the essentials, otherwise your shoulder will be killing you by the end of the day (trust me, I’ve already had this issue.)

2. A notebook to mark all of your favorite restaurants, shops, bakeries and streets. I like to put in a business card and write a few notes about why I liked it and where I can find it again!

3. Grocery shopping without a car is a bit difficult, keep a cute reusable bag in your purse so you can stop in and just grab what you need every few days instead of making large trips.

4. Flats, flats, flats! If you’re like me, you like to explore your new city, and you like to do it on foot. Slip on the flats and forget the heels!

5. We’re all social (media) gals and that means recharging midway though the day to keep up with your favorite brands, bloggers and friends.

6. Silky tops are the easiest things to wear, throw on a pair of jeans, casual pants or anything and you’re pretty much good to go in NYC.

7. When I use my tote to go back and forth from work, the only way I can possibly find anything is to keep the important things in a separate pouch. I love the idea of a clear one so I can remember what I put in it when the coffee is running low…

8. If I’m not 5 or 10 minutes early, I feel late and stressed (it’s really a problem) so I always try to keep track of the time when I have places to be and people to see- cue adorable watch.

9. Sunny days call for cool shades. Sometimes we need to protect our eyes, other times we forgot to apply concealer under our eyes, either way, sunglasses always do the trick!

10. Honestly, my feet have been killing me with all of the walking and exploring I’ve been doing, so I’ve decided the only way to survive is to rock some sneakers.

Have any other tips for living and working in NYC? I’d love to hear them! Tell me your favorite spots to go or any tips, I’m all ears!
