5 Must-Have Jeans

There are five types of jeans that are crucial to have in your close, at least I think so anyways. With these five, you can put together an endless amount of outfits just by dressing them up and down and adding different accessories.

The first essential is your dark wash boot cut jean. This jean literally flatters every body type. It is especially good for girls that have some curve! The dark wash slims the leg, while the bootcut helps to balance your body. I prefer to pair them with a fitted shirt.

The skinny jean (I again prefer a darker wash such as this pair). Skinny jeans are very versatile and can be done casual or very dressy. Because they are a tighter fit, I usually pair them with a top that has a little more body to it. I also love to wear them with pointed toe flats!

The third essential jean is your statement jean. It could be a pattern like this, or a bright color. Whatever you prefer. They are fun because they add a ton of visual interest to the outfit. If you are going to do a pattern, I recommend trying them on to make sure it is not overwhelming.

The white jean. Honestly, you could split this into a pair of skinny white jeans and bootcut white jeans because they are such a great piece to have in your wardrobe. When I wear my skinny white jeans, I tend to roll them into capris or wear them with a pair of skyscraper heels. For bootcut, I usually turn to my favorite pair of flat sandals (Jack Rogers are the usual pick.) These are my favorite (and my mom’s favorite) white bootcut jeans.

Last but not least is your medium wash jean. For me, I see these pretty much as my casual weekend jean for running errands, grabbing coffee or anything that I am not really dressing up for. Mine are a bootcut because if I am running around I don’t want a tight fitted jean. This does not mean you can buy them two sizes too big and have them be baggy and unflattering….

What is your favorite pair of jeans?
