Graduation Party!

I seem to be in this theme of the end of the school year and graduations. After my graduation gift post, I decided to do one on a graduation party (or any party for that matter)! These are some fun things to have at your graduation party to make your special day even more memorable!

Invitations:

The invitations shown here are the Lilly Pulitzer Correspondence Cards in Cloud Nine from Lifeguard Press. They come in other great prints and colors for whichever color scheme you decide on.

Decorations:

These will depend on where you decide to have your party. Some have great big parties for all the graduates at a house or venue and others may be a smaller dinner with families and friends. Whichever it is, balloons are a total must! They even have great kits at party stores to blow up your own balloons- this is what we (my family) usually use, it makes it easier on us and we don’t have to worry about balloons deflating over time.

I love flowers for decorating. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers because they have so much volume to them. I like the idea of doing smaller vases (or mason jars) and putting them in bunches to decorate.

Candles always seem to bring warmth to the room and for me they are really calming. The one shown is a soy candle with a monogram. You could easily buy inexpensive candles and make sticker monograms to personalize. (they would make a great gift for other graduates!)

Dinnerware:

At a party such as this, brining your fine china out might not be the best idea. Try some fun plates and coasters from Preppy Plates. They come in super fun colors and you can personalize them with a monogram, initial or name of your choice.

Food & Drink:

If you are having your party at a venue, this will probably be taken care of. However, if you are having it at home then be sure to have something to nibble on right away! Small sandwiches, chips & dip, fruit, punch and other easy to make (or buy) items go a long way.

As for the cake- I’ve opted to include cupcakes, I think they are easier for guests and having a cupcake with a little cap or diploma on it is too cute!

Last but never least, the dress:

For my graduation, girls wore white dresses, and boys wore navy blazers and khakis. Of course my dress was a white lace dress from Lilly Pulitzer.

This dress is also Lilly Pulitzer and would be great for graduation and a party afterwards. p.s. love her Lilly clutch! Here’s a great Lilly Pulitzer clutch to go with!

Have a blast at the graduation parties you plan & attend- that’s the most important part!

Stay Fabulous!
