DIY : Lucite Tray

I have been obsessing over lucite trays but have not been able to justify the $250 to get a completely custom one that I love. Well, I opted for a DIY tray and it is completely custom to me!

I purchased a tray at homegoods for $8 (price you cannot beat!) This is what the tray looked like:

From here I used Krylon Plastic paint (left over from other projects) to make the bottom white.

This is the tray after about three coats of paint (maybe took 15 minutes from start to finish.) I also opted to put a coat of mod podge on the tray to give it some extra shine.

After this I took to photoshop to make myself an insert. I saved it to a USB and went to staples, they printed it out and laminated it for me (my total cost for printing three, and laminating two was under $10!) I then cut the lamination down to size and put it in place and I had my very own preppy tray perfect for everything!

Note the background of my insert is the same as my blog!

The whole project was inexpensive and super easy, anyone can pull this off!
