So recently I met my boyfriends family. I will be honest, I was nervous- but who wouldn’t be?! I know one concern I had was “what do I wear?” I raided my closet and packed all of my go to pieces. I thought this would be best because I knew I would be comfortable and I would feel good wearing them. I’ve pulled a few things that I think would be good if you’re looking to make that good first impression.
Tip #1- If you go for a dress, skirt or shorts (only for something more causal)- do NOT make it too short. If you put our hands to your side and your fingertips are past the bottom of your outfit- it is too short for this.

Note: The skirt is a good length

Blazers are great with everything. You could pair this with the skirt above
or with a dress. For a casual look later in the week you could pull it back out
and pair it with jeans.
Tip #2- Skin-tight won’t get you anywhere good here.

A bright color pair of crops that fits but is not tight is a great look. It is young and put-together.
Tip #3- Make sure you’re comfortable.
These Kate Spade Elina Flats are to die for. They have a pop of color and will allow you to be comfortable instead of having sore feet.
As for jewelry, keep it simple, but also what you’re used to. If your go-to piece is a bold necklace than put your favorite one on. For me it would be my pearl necklace, fun studs, and a stack of small bracelets. With the color pallet above I would use gold jewelry but it is truly up to you with what you are most comfortable in. Remember two tone jewelry is always acceptable.
One last tip, keep your make up minimal. You do not want to look like someone who painted their face on that morning.
What would you wear to “meet the parents”?
