Over the past month I’ve switched up a few of my products but finally feel like I’m in a good groove. While there’s a few others I use on a regular basis (if you keep up with me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen them) these are the ones I cannot live without.
For skin care, these 3 are an absolute must for me. I had been using the eye cream for a while, but started with the La Solution 10 cream about 2 months ago, as well as the c15 vitamin booster. One thing my mom and aunt always taught me was that skin (face and body) needs to be taken seriously and well moisturized, with good products and ingredients. Because of this, I started using eye cream when I was about 16.
After cleansing and using an acne treatment (trying to get the skin perfectly clear for the wedding) I use 2 pumps of the Chanel La Solution 10 cream and mix in 3 drops of the 15% vitamin C booster before applying to my face and neck. Once that has a minute to set in, apply the eye cream using your ring fingers, very gently, around the entire eye area.
As I said, good skincare was instilled in me early. For every day, I turn to Kiehl’s Cream de Corps. I’ve been using it for about 2 to 3 years and while sometimes it’s difficult to pull on skinny jeans right afterwards, it’s worth it in the long run. I can honestly say that my mom, who has used body cream everyday since she was probably 12, has skin that looks at least 15 years younger than she actually is. She frequently gets asked by her friends what she does, and while she always shares the products she uses, part of it is all of the years she has put in taking care of skin.
While the cream I’ve been using for years, I just added Aveda Thickening Tonic to my haircare and it has made a world of difference when it comes to curling my hair and holding a style. My hair is very fine and frequently falls completely flat after an hour or so of styling. For straightening my hair, usually 2-3 spays is perfect to plump it up, when curling, I’ll add a few more to give it the extra grit to hold the curl all day long, maybe 4-5 sprays.
These Artis brushes are actually amazing. When I first started seeing them, I thought they looked completely bazaar and figured they had to be over rated. However, I’m happy to report I was completely wrong. They’re not only the softest brushes I’ve ever owned but they seem to waste so much less product than any brush I’ve used. The two brushes pictured are number 8 (foundation) and number 6 (blush), they’re the two I use the most often and have become completely necessary to my make-up routine. They give me a completely flawless finish and blend everything perfectly. After those 2, I’d say the number 4 brush is a great investment as well, it’s perfect for concealer and smaller jobs on the face.
The Nars multiple stick is perfect when you’re low on time, for me it’s perfect to use on a daily basis instead of regular blush. I use the number 6 brush to apply to the apples of my cheeks for a little bronze and shine. I also have a lighter color that I will dap on when going out for the night or to an event for a little added shimmer.
For the longest time I would only ever get UV gel on my nails as everything else chipped within 24 hours. Now, I’m a total believer in the Essie Gel Couture line (got a fresh mani with it yesterday and after doing dishes, 2 showers and a workout, there’s not a chip in sight!) It usually lasts me a full week with zero chips and about 2 weeks with minimal chips. The two colors above (left to right) are “At The Barre” and “Satin Slippers“. Another favorite is “Take Me To The Thread” which is more of a mauve color. One thing to note is that you have to use the top coat in order to get the long lasting effect.
I was first introduced to Keratase in high school and I’ve been a fan ever since. While I sometimes switch up which line of theirs I use for shampoo and conditioner, you can always find it in m shower. Most recently, I started using the new Aura Botanica line, I love that they made a more natural product while still giving me the soft and shiny hair I want. Before this, I was using their Chronologiste line, and for a deep conditioner, that one is my favorite by far.
