I love a good beauty product, but their honestly not that easy to find. When I first started going to a real salon as a teenager, it was an Aveda spa on my way home from school. My mom would book me an appointment time that coordinated with hers and treat me to a cut, blowout or maybe a facial. I can remember being obsessed with the smell of the products and loving to indulge in their shampoos and conditioners that were in my mom’s shower. As I got older and moved away, I tried other products and switched back and forth between different brands and routines trying to master the art of perfect hair and skin.
A little over a year ago Aveda walked back into my life in the form of New York fashion week- I walked into the backstage area at Osklen’s Spring/Summer 2016 show and the smell of Aveda Air Control hit me so pleasantly. I knew I had to start using some of their products again.
Currently I’m obsessed with something they’re probably not known for- their lipsticks! They’re the silkiest ones I’ve ever tried and even if you’re a little chapped, they’re nourishing and help hide the imperfections in your lips. For a good Fall red I love “Carnelian” and for my soft everyday color I’ve been relying on “Sheer Primrose.”
Over the past 6-8 months I’ve been really trying to perfect my skincare routine and make an effort to cutback on the amount of foundation and powder I use. I don’t like the idea of putting un-natrual substances onto my skin to later be absorbed into my body. One of the products I’ve worked into my routine recently has been Aveda’s new Tulasara Bright Concentrate. It has the classic Aveda scent which I love and makes me feel a little more balanced when I use it at night. I follow it up with this moisturizer and eye cream just before bed.
