I’ve had to break out my winter coats more times than I care to admit this Fall, and truthfully, I found that some were lacking. I decide to invest in a few new pieces that will be with me long after the snow melts away at the end of the Winter season. The first necessity is the trench. It will be your BFF to start the chilly season; layer under it for cooler days or wear as a topper on the chilly mornings. It will be one of the most versatile coats in your wardrobe since it can handle the rain and keep you warm through Fall and early Spring.
Next is the formal coat (also love this one for under $300 and this one for under $200). Think long wool-blend coats that you can wear from work to a cocktail party without missing a step. Pair it with a cozy blanket scarf during the day for added warmth.
Last is your true cold-weather companion, the puffer. When it’s bitterly cold out and you’re dreading stepping foot outside, the only thing to get you through is a super warm coat. Layer on the hats, mittens and anything else you can get your hands on to keep the cold out.
