Were you aware that Valentine’s day is growing near? I bet it was pretty hard to tell since stores definitely weren’t pushing this (made-up) holiday upon us for the past few weeks. Anyways, you’re welcome for letting you know. Sometimes I do a gift guide, or a what to wear on your steamy hot Valentine’s day date (okay, pretty sure I’ve never actually said those words in a blog post, but lets go with it for all intensive purposes.) This year, I really just picked all of my favorite things, which, yes could be taken as a gift guide, but it’s really more about you and yourself. Because lets face it, the best person to shop for you, is you. Anyways, if there’s a guy reading this post for his lady friend, please be sure to see the warnings below about a few of the items.

Time for the warnings. These super cozy socks I included? Unless you’d like your lady friend to end up in tears for Valentine’s day, don’t get her these. I mostly included them because my feet were really cold while writing this post, and they were exactly what I needed. These absolutely amazing shoes that are the perfect spring wardrobe addition? She will completely fall in love with you (or stop being mad at you for whatever you did) over these bad boys- so if you’re not at that step in your friendship/relationship/non-labeled relationship, you might want to skip these. Feel free to send them my way though.
Need another idea? Stick to the basics. Ladies love flowers. We like to smell them, post instagrams about them and flaunt to the world that we have fresh flowers (exhibit A, B and C– I’ll spare you the other 300 examples.) Roses are a solid standby, I mean, it’s sort of the flower for this day and all, but if you really want to make her feel special… Give her her favorite flower- and if you’re not sure what that is, stalk her on pinterest, you’ll figure it out very quickly (solid chance that they’re peonies, FYI.)
Ladies, be sure to get yourself a little Valentine’s surprise, regardless of your relationship (or non-relationship-relationship) status. Cupcakes, wine and a fun pair of earrings are what I think I’ll go for this year.
