I have always been a firm believer in the saying “you get what you work for, not what you wish for.” It can truly be applied to nearly every situation. Set your goals and never let them out of your sight. Always be heading in the direction you want, and try to never deviate from the path you want to be on.
It is not always easy to stay focused, but I often think “a year from today, what will I wish I had done differently?” If you have a long term idea in your head, it is far easier to stay focused than if you’re simply just working with no direction. Always think ahead. Always do your best. Always work hard.
On this Monday, I challenge you to set your goals for the future. Where do you want to be in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Write them down and keep them in a place where you will see them often. Your plans may change, and that’s okay, just make sure they change in the direction you want them to change in. You are the only person that can make yourself determined or work hard. It all has to come from within.
Make it happen.
