Happy Sunday everyone! Style icons are important to have to begin to create your own personal style. Think of it like a jumping off point. Here are my favorite style icons.
Audrey Hepburn is one of the most beautiful actresses there ever has been. She always had a very distinct fashion sense and you could always count on her to look pulled together. She was, in one word, classy.
Okay, I will be honest I am still a die hard Spice Girls fan. I may or may not have been jamming out to them and sining at the top of my lungs yesterday. Victoria Beckham is a style inspiration for me because she is never caught looking anything but perfect. I may not particularly like everything she wears, but no matter what it is she rocks it. Honestly, she could probably wear a trash bag and make it a world wide trend. Oh and p.s. she is known for the Birkin- I can only dream that some day I will have one!
Jackie O. She is one of the great “preps” for a style icon. I probably love her style the most because it is so very preppy and classic. I love looking through the old black and white pictures of her and all of her different outfits. My favorite thing about her outfits is that you could easily wear all of them today and be in-style. For those of you who don’t know, Jackie O is the reason that the classic Jack Rogers Navajo sandal is so well-known and popular.
Kate Middleton is the last, but not the least, of my style icons. Her dresses are my favorite part of of her style. This navy blue lace dress is TDF! She, like all of my other style icons, is classic. I am not sure I would call her preppy, but some of her outfits could certainly be considered that. Her jewelry choices are always subtle and fabulous (get it?). I love Kate so much, I dressed up as her for our chapters Alpha Phi Date party, the theme was “famous couples”.
Style icons are not people to “steal” your style from, but people to inspire your own and draw from for inspiration. These four lovely ladies are my inspiration for my own style. I use them because they have their own personal style and they know what it is. They all have one thing in common, they are all classic, although Victoria might push that one a little.
Who are your style icons and why?
Stay Fabulous!
