Fall Refresh

Dessange-Hair-care

In the past, I haven’t talked too much about hair care, skin care, makeup etc. but I’m actually a product junky. My bathroom probably needs to have about 3-times the storage to fit everything I insist on trying. I have however, been cutting back since Eric and I now share a bathroom, so I have to limit it to the products that are really worth it.

Recently, I’ve tried 2 new sets of products, the Dessange Paris hair care line, available exclusively at Target, and Tula’s exfoliating treatment mask and hydrating day & night cream.

For the Dessange shampoo and conditioner, they’re definitely intended for people with a thicker more coarse hair type as they’re very emollient and rich. For my fine hair, it was a little overwhelming the first time I used the conditioner as I used it scalp to ends. However, I adjusted my approach the next time and used it as more of a treatment mask on the weekend and for that, it was great. If you have fine hair and need an everyday set, this likely isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a treatment mask that you’re not going to style your hair after, it’s a great option. That being said, those with a more coarse hair type, will likely love this set. The entire line is very well-priced (the conditioner is under $10!) so it’s a great alternative to the pricier products available at your salon.

I was introduced to Tula a few months ago, but only tried the products recently. My favorite out of these two is easily the exfoliating treatment mask. It’s more of a gentle exfoliator, perfect for using on your face and décolletage since it’s not too abrasive on the delicate skin. I’ve been using it in the morning before I get into the shower- applying a thin layer, checking emails or pulling my outfit together while it dries, and then hopping in the shower to rinse away (while gently using my fingers to wash it off in a circular motion). It’s a fast mask, so you can use it during the week without being late.

The moisturizer is very light, so for me, it’s more of a daytime product. I’ve actually been using it mostly on my décolletage as my face tends to be problematic and needs a little more help than just a moisturizer. It absorbs fast and gives me that needed drink my skin craves after an exfoliation.
